Bycicle tour to Zebegény
First written records of the town are from the 13th century, but it became organized in its current form after the Ottoman occupation. After the opening of the Budapest-Bratislava railway in the mid-19th century, it started to develop rapidly, which gave place to some of the major developments of the time, such as a viaduct, second in size in Hungary and the railways station which was built in the fashion of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. It retains its original style and is a major tourist attraction.
Starting from the beginning of the 1900s Zebegény became popular with the gentry of the capital city and the first cottages and villas were built. With its unmatched natural beauty and excellent, healing air quality, its original village image gives place to a bubbly holiday scenery.
