Visegrad
Hungary’s smallest but at the same time oldest city. It is located on the left side of the Danube river in the Danube Bend opposite Nagymaros. In 1002, Visegrad was already the centre of the Kingdom and the official residence of the Hungarian kings between 1323-1408. It played the most significant role during the reign of our King Matthias, and was considered one of the centres of European renaissance at that time. The meeting between the Hungarian King Karoly Robert, the Polish King Kazmer III. and the Chech King Janos took place here in 1335.
