Nagymaros
The history of Nagymaros is closely connected to that of Visegrad located on the opposite side of the Danube river. Nagymaros was a favourite place for the kings since its flat country side was especially suitable for jousting tournaments.
It offers a wonderful view from the Duna side to the Visegrad castle on the other side, ferry boat ride to Visegrad - tickets are sold at the Nagymaros station. Restaurants at the Duna side near the ferry, bicycle road alongside the river.
