Bycicle tour to Királyrét
Királyrét grew from being a favourite hunting spot for royals in the past centuries to becoming one of the most popular excursion spots in the area. It is a starting point to many popular routes thanks to the Királyrét mini railway line which has Kismaros as its terminal. The area offers magnificent views of the Börzöny hills and it offers a variety of activities for all ages.
Those looking for only a short walk to refresh themselves can enjoy the Bajdázó-valley which is ideal for children, especially as it has a large playground where kids from very young to older can play and test their fitness. Here lies a lake and a fishing spot. Thanks to many years of being untouched, a variety of fish and frogs live here paired with a rich flora, and those with a keen eye might even spot turtles around the footpath next to the lake.
Just above the Várhegy hill you can get a beautiful view of the surrounding valleys, especially in the winter months for those who don’t get scared by a short but steep trip.
